This is our first tent and I love it! Just come back from a camping trip where we experienced a heavy downpour at night and had no problems at all. Really spacious and easy enough to put up and take down. Meets our needs as a family of three. The only thing I would have found useful with this tent is a flysheet on the main door. Can't wait to use it again!

Purchased as a weekend tent for a family of 5, this suits our needs perfectly. It is easy to put up and take down, packs away easily into its original bag and is a small packsize. The bedroom pod is large enough for a double airbed and three singles with a little space to spare. The living area holds a folding table and the paraphernalia needed for two nights away.

We have used the tent in wet weather and haven't had the leakage issue described by some. My only gripe is the sloping front but that's not specific to this tent, it just means that there is no way of getting in & out of the tent in the rain. I'm getting the canopy to resolve this which is why I've given it 8 stars - the tent is only good for fair weather camping without it.

Well done granmallard I have the same problem and the service I've received is the same.I returned my tent to camping world in Frencham and its taken nearly 5 weeks to get it back with a bit of sealant sprayed round the zip area. The main problems are the zip covers are not wide enough and there's a lip all round the zip, this actually acts like a gutter an channels the water round the bottom and it comes through the zip. I also emailed Kampa and was simply told to go to the retailer. Its a shame because I have a 2011 pendine 8 and its brilliant, but if thats the quality being produced I will no longer go for a Kampa tent

1 out of 10 for tent (water egress problem), Kampa and Towsure customer service - absolutely terrible!

Main front door closure flaps appear to us to be wholly inadequate for keeping out rain. We used the tent for the first time 1-4 August and after we experienced rainfall overnight we woke to find a big puddle of water inside the tent in front of the main door! There are only a two velcro tabs each side to hold down the flaps and these appear to have been sewn in the wrong position – too close to the zip itself and onto an extra strip of tent fabric which causes the flap to open in the breeze. We are of the opinion that the velco tabs would be better attached to the tent rather than the strip of tent fabric thus ensuring the flap lays flat – there should also be at least another two velcro tabs so that the flap stays shut.

Complained to both Kampa (Maker) and Towsure (Retailer) and disappointingly neither company have the slightest interest in assisting us. In fact Kamper's solution is:

'In general the flaps and Velcro around the zip is sufficient enough to stop water from penetrating but if you find that this is of concern to you, you can run a liquid seam sealant over the material of the zip (not the zip teeth) and the stitching to again reduce this further'. How in God's name is this going to help when the problem is the flap attachment to the tent!

We are totally dissatisfied with this tent and in particular the service, or to be correct, lack of service from both Kampa and Towsure!

It's a great tent so easy To put up and take down

Loads of room in the bedrooms to stand up and get dressed

Value for money tent you can pay a lot more for one looking the same

Pockets inside are a real bonus for our bits and pieces

Loads of room to sit inside if the weather not too good

Poles to the front are great when weather hot so you can have the canopy up

I am a woman who is really terrified of all creepy crawly things. (we even left our last tent in France by the bins on our last day because I knew I wouldn't want to use it again) That said I love camping with my family, so my dilemma most years is keeping the bugs out, the tent cool (or dry depending on the location) and a large enough living area to put a table and chairs in. We have had quite a few tries at getting the right tent so that we have a good large living/sleeping area whilst not taking a degree in construction to put it up in the rain or baking sun. So far I think we have hit the jackpot with this one. A lot of tunnel tents seem to have a front door that has only zips down each side, not along the bottom, just velcro, so rain (and more importantly bugs) get in. This tent has a zip all of the way around which is brilliant. The side door has a porch over it to stop rain or early morning dew from falling on heads, plus a separate mesh inner door to let cool air in but nothing else. If I was asked what other improvement I could add to this design I would have had a mesh door on the front door as well. This is just such a great tent though for a complete coward like me. I love it.
